ABOUT THE AUTHOR


Dr S Ramakrishna Sharma, Founder, and Managing Trustee of Foundation for Indian Scientific Heritage Trust ® Surathkal, Mangalore belongs to Karnataka, India. He is a retired Associate Professor of English Literature (2015) who holds TWO Doctorates, viz., PhD in English Literature and PhD in Sanskrit. He entered active social life after spending 14 years of wandering in the Himalayas, and across the country, after having got formal training in Vedanta, Yoga, and Sanskrit under H.H Swami Dayananda in Sandeepany Sadhanalaya of H.H Swami Chinmayananda (CCMT, Mumbai).

For more than four decades he has been decoding Veda Vidya and Indian traditional resources to rediscover Indian scientific heritage. While in service he has coordinated the Three Day International Conference on Decoding Veda Vidya, in Udupi, Karnataka. On similar themes, he coordinated Four National Conferences and a State Level Seminar.

He has presented 15 papers in the National Conferences. His commentary in Malayalam on hitherto unpublished Go-Savithri Stotram, from oral tradition, is published in Kerala. A similar work in Kannada on another composition by a Sanskrit scholar, Gangapadeenam, is published in Karnataka. He is a multi-linguist and has command over 9 languages. His own writings in Sanskrit are yet to be published. His Oath and Song of Yoga audio was forwarded by Mangalore University to the Minister of HRD, in 2015.

The present work on SRD(spiritual resource development) titled Need of the Hour/Spiritual Resource Development is the first in the series planned to unfold the Indian Knowledge System (IKS, better term being Veda Vidyā) and it’s Applications.
This book provides the proper approach to discern the need for concept upgradation of HRD. The book introduces Sanskrit (Samskrutam) as a research tool of the Rishis of Bharat. It is technology relevant language which facilitates performance research leading to knowledge empowerment.
This is the key to probe into Indian Knowledge System, better Veda Vidyā. The book deals with Dharma Connectivity and operative dynamics of the research tools of Vedic Rishis.The book asserts that English language is inadequate incompetent and unaccommodating to decode the rich scientific heritage of Bharat.
